If you need to print documents whilst away from your office or home using just your smartphone you might be interested in an innovative next-generation robotic printing device which has been developed by ZUtA Labs Ltd based in Jerusalem, Israel.
The Mini robot actually moves around on your page to print your required images, text or photos and is small enough to fit inside your pocket. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Mini Mobile Robotic Printer project and see it in action.
“You can see students, lawyers or entrepreneurs working efficiently outside of their homes of offices but then suddenly struggling to find a place to print. Our vision is to change that. We have created a mobile printer that is easy and fun to use, can be taken anywhere, prints from any device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, you name it!) onto any sized page.
Print machines now-a-days are essentially a printhead running left and right on a moving piece of paper. We asked ourselves, why not get rid of the entire device, just put the printhead on a set of small wheels and let it run across a piece of paper. By doing so, we allow the printer to really be as little as possible.”
The Mini Mobile Robotic Printer is activated by sliding a cover located on the bottom of the printer which will reveal the inkjet and it can be charge from a stander USB connection when needed. The inkjet lasts for over 1,000 printed pages and the battery lasts for over one hour per full-charge, the first device will print in greyscale but future devices are being developed to print in colour.
The Mini Mobile Robotic Printer project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production.
