Microsoft has released its financial results for its fiscal quarter 3 of 2016, in the report the company revealed how many Microsoft Lumia smartphones they sold.
The company announced that they sold a total of 2.3 million Microsoft Lumia devices for their Q3 fiscal quarter, this is down some 73% on the same period last year where they sold 8.6 million Lumia devices.
Microsoft sold a total of 15.7 million non Lumia mobile phones in the same quarter, this is down from 24.7 million for the same period last year.
Overall mobile phone revenue for Microsoft in the quarter was $662 million, this is down around 47% on the same period in 2015.
There have been rumors that Microsoft will release a Surface phone, the company is expected to replace their Lumia range of handsets with their new Surface devices and we are not expecting to see any new Lumia handsets this year,
