It looks like both models will go on sale on the 13th of May 2010 and they will be available to pre-order from the 6th of May 2010, as they managed to get an image of an internal Verizon report which you can see below.
Features of the Kin One
The Kin One features a 2.6 inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. This compact design makes it easy to handle and perfect for users who prefer a smaller device. The Kin One is equipped with a five-megapixel camera that includes built-in autofocus, anti-shake technology, and an LED flash. These features ensure that users can capture clear and stable photos even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the Kin One supports various social networking features, making it an ideal choice for users who are always connected and active on social media platforms.
Features of the Kin Two
The Kin Two, on the other hand, offers a larger 3.4 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. This larger screen provides a better viewing experience for multimedia content and web browsing. The Kin Two is equipped with an eight-megapixel camera that also includes autofocus, anti-shake technology, and a Lumi LED flash. The higher resolution camera on the Kin Two allows for more detailed and higher quality photos, making it a great option for photography enthusiasts. Like the Kin One, the Kin Two also focuses on social networking capabilities, ensuring that users can easily share their moments and stay connected with friends and family.
Additional Features and Software
Both the Kin One and Kin Two run on a custom version of the Windows Phone operating system, which is designed to integrate seamlessly with Microsoft’s suite of services, including Zune for music and video, and Xbox Live for gaming. The devices also feature a unique user interface that emphasizes social networking, with a home screen that aggregates updates from various social media platforms into one convenient feed. This makes it easier for users to stay up-to-date with their social circles without having to switch between different apps.
Another notable feature of the Kin devices is the “Kin Studio,” a cloud-based service that automatically backs up photos, videos, messages, and other content from the phone. This ensures that users’ data is always safe and accessible from any web browser, providing peace of mind and convenience.
Connectivity and Storage
In terms of connectivity, both the Kin One and Kin Two support 3G networks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This ensures that users can stay connected and navigate with ease, no matter where they are. The Kin One comes with 4GB of internal storage, while the Kin Two offers a more generous 8GB of storage. Although neither device supports expandable storage via microSD cards, the included storage should be sufficient for most users’ needs, especially with the Kin Studio’s cloud backup feature.
Pricing and Availability
There are no details on pricing for the Kin One and Kin Two yet. As soon as we get some more information on pricing as well as what plans will be available on Verizon, we will let you guys know. Given the features and target audience of these devices, it is expected that they will be competitively priced to attract social media enthusiasts and younger users who are looking for a device that keeps them connected and entertained.
