LG has announced that they have now sold a total of 5 million LTE enabled smartphones, this is an increase of 1 million over the 4 million LTE devices they announced last month.
LG sold a total of one million LTE enabled handsets in July, and LG are intending to release some of their LTE enabled devices globally, like the new LG Optimus Vu, which we heard yesterday would land in the US next month.
“Sales of global LTE smartphones are expected to increase ten-fold this year from last year,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “With that in mind, we are planning to introduce an even more impressive LTE line-up in the next several months second to none.”
LG obviously has big plans for their LTE enabled devices, which have been doing well in their home country, it will be interesting to see how well the handset do when they are rolled out globally.
