LaCie has just released details of its latest USB drive the LaCie XtremeKey that’s waterproof up to 100 meters, protects your data from temperatures from -58 degrees Fahrenheit to +400, and is resistant to 16 foot drops. Check out the video after the break to see the beating this drive can take.
The advertising for the new LaCie XtremeKey includes images of it being run over by a 10-tonne truck, being fired and oven baked, frozen in a household freezer and battered with a hammer.
Once its survived what ever you can throw at it, the drive will transfer data at 40Mbps and write data at 3Mbps. The LaCie XtremeKey will be available to buy next month but there are on details on cost at the moment.
