We have heard various rumors about the iPhone 6 release date, most of those have pointed to the handset being announced in early September and then going on sale around the middle of September.
Recent rumors have suggested that Apple may hold their iPhone 6 press event in either the second or third week of September, this would suggest a later iPhone 6 release date than we had heard previously.
According to a recent report by MacRumors, the iPhone 6 release date will be Tuesday the 14th of October, MacRumors have apparently received some information from a source close to an Apple retail store.
This would be a change for Apple, as the company in the past has launched their new iPhones on a Friday, so Tuesday the 14th of October for the iPhone 6 release date would be different for the company.
We are expecting the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 to launch on this date, the 5.5 inch model is rumored to launch later in the year, possibly November or December.
The new iPhone 6 will come with a new 64-bit Apple A8 processor, the handset is also said to get new cameras and a new TouchID fingerprint sensor which is reported to be more accurate and durable than the existing model. The handset will come with iOS 8, it is not clear as yet on whether the Apple iWatch will launch at the same time.
