As well as releasing a new Apple TV beta, and OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 2, Apple also released iOS 8 Beta 2. The latest beta version of Apple’s mobile software brings some new features to iOS devices.
Some of the new features in iOS 8 beta 2 include changes to the Podcasts App, which is now part of the OS, and cannot be deleted like the previous version of the app that did not come installed on the iPhone and iPad out of the box. The app was previously available as a free download from the app store.
iOS 8 beta 2 also comes with a new QuickType keyboard for the iPad, this was previously only available on the iPhone in the last beta release.
Another new feature is an advert blocking feature in Safari, and this is a pretty useful one, as it will automatically block any adverts in Safari that re-direct you to the app store without any interaction from yourself, these ads can be annoying.
There are also a number of bug fixes in the latest beta version of iOS 8, we only have a few months to wait until the final release, as Apple has said ti will launch this fall.
We are expecting Apple to launch iOS 8 in September, along with the new iPhone 6 and the Apple iWatch, as soon as we get some more details on when iOS 8 will launch, we will let you guys know.
