Apple released their sixth beta of iOS 11.4 last week and now we have some speed test videos of iOS 11.4 Beta 6 vs iOS 11.3.1.
In the videos below we get to see the iOS 11.4 Beta 6 vs iOS 11.3.1 tests run on a range of Apple devices from the iPhone 5S to the iPhone 8, first up is the iPhone 5S.
As we can see from the video the iPhone 5S running the iOS 11.3.1 software booted up slightly quicker than the device running the new beta. There is no major improvement in the speed of the apps. Next is the iPhone 6.
With the iPhone 6, the handset running the running the iOS 11.3.1 booted up a split second faster than the handset running the iOS 11.4 beta 6, the two appear to be about the same in the apps. Next we have the iPhone 6S.
In the video of the two iPhone 6S handsets, the one running the iOS 11.3.1 software booted up a couple of seconds faster than the device running the new beta. There is now major improvement in the speed of the apps. Next is the iPhone 7.
As we can see from the iPhone 7 video, the handset running the current iOS 11.3.1 booted up faster than the device with the new beta. There is no speed difference between the two in the apps.
In the final video with the iPhone 8, the handset running the iOS 11.3.1 software booted up a split second quicker than the handset running the new beta. There is no difference between the two devices in the various apps.
As this is the sixth beta of iOS 11.4, this is probably the final version before the general release of the software. So it looks like there will be no major speed improvements with iOS 11.4. We are expecting the software to be released some time this week.
