We know that the new HTC U12 is not coming at MWC this month, although we may see another new handset, the HTC Desire 12.
The guys from Android Authority have received a picture of the retail box for the HTC Desire 12 smartphone, and this lists the specifications for the device.
The handset will be powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor and will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.
The Desire 12 will also come with a microSD card slot which will take up to a 2TB card. The device will feature a 5.5-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset will also come with a dual Nano SIM card slot.
On the front of the new HTC Desire 12, there will be a 5-megapixel camera for selfies, and on the back of the handset, there will be a 12-megapixel camera for photos and videos. We will have more details about this new HTC smartphone at Mobile World Congress next week.
Enhanced Features and Performance
The HTC Desire 12 aims to offer a balanced mix of performance and affordability. The 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor is designed to handle everyday tasks with ease, making it suitable for users who need a reliable device for browsing, social media, and light gaming. The 3GB of RAM ensures smooth multitasking, allowing users to switch between apps without significant lag.
The 32GB of built-in storage provides ample space for apps, photos, and videos. However, for those who need more storage, the microSD card slot supports cards up to 2TB, which is a significant advantage for users who store a lot of media files or large applications.
Display and Camera Capabilities
The 5.5-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels offers a clear and vibrant viewing experience. The 18:9 aspect ratio is becoming increasingly popular in smartphones, as it provides a more immersive viewing experience, especially for watching videos and playing games. The display size and resolution make the HTC Desire 12 a good choice for media consumption on the go.
The camera setup on the HTC Desire 12 is designed to cater to both casual and more serious photographers. The 5-megapixel front camera is ideal for selfies and video calls, offering decent quality for everyday use. The 12-megapixel rear camera is capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos, making it suitable for documenting important moments and creating content for social media.
Additional Features and Considerations
The dual Nano SIM card slot is a valuable feature for users who need to manage two phone numbers, such as those who travel frequently or need to separate work and personal calls. This flexibility can be a significant advantage for many users.
While the HTC Desire 12 may not be the flagship model that some were hoping for, it offers a solid set of features that make it a competitive option in the mid-range smartphone market. Its combination of a capable processor, ample RAM, expandable storage, and decent camera capabilities make it a well-rounded device for a variety of users.
We look forward to learning more about the HTC Desire 12 at Mobile World Congress next week, where we expect to see more details about its availability, pricing, and any additional features that may be announced.
