We have been hearing a few rumors about HTC’s new smartphone recently, the HTC U12, and now it looks like we have some actual pictures of the handset.
HTC has shown off a new device at a recent 5G industry event. Some of the handset has been covered up, but you can get a pretty good idea of the design from the pictures.
According to Evan Blass, this is the new HTC U12 smartphone. It looks very similar to the leaked press render we saw previously.
Apparently this lightly obfuscated handset on display at a 5G industry event is none other than HTC Imagine, aka “U12,” aka the company’s next flagship. https://t.co/f89KjGjEyX

Design and Features
The HTC U12 appears to feature a sleek and modern design, consistent with HTC’s reputation for high-quality craftsmanship. The images suggest a large display with minimal bezels, which is in line with current smartphone trends. The back of the device seems to have a glossy finish, possibly made of glass, which could indicate support for wireless charging. The placement of the camera and fingerprint sensor is also noteworthy, as it appears to be ergonomically designed for ease of use.
The HTC U12 is expected to come with a range of high-end features. Rumors suggest it will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, possibly the Snapdragon 845, which would offer significant improvements in performance and efficiency. Additionally, the device is likely to come with a high-resolution display, possibly Quad HD+, and a dual-camera setup for enhanced photography capabilities.
5G Capabilities
One of the most exciting aspects of the HTC U12 is its potential 5G capabilities. The fact that it was showcased at a 5G industry event suggests that HTC is positioning this device as one of the first to support the next generation of mobile networks. 5G technology promises faster download and upload speeds, lower latency, and the ability to connect more devices simultaneously. This could make the HTC U12 an attractive option for tech enthusiasts and early adopters looking to future-proof their smartphone purchase.
HTC has been relatively quiet in the smartphone market recently, but the U12 could mark a significant comeback for the company. With its potential 5G capabilities and high-end features, the U12 could compete with flagship devices from other major manufacturers like Samsung, Apple, and Google.
HTC will not be announcing the new U12 smartphone at Mobile World Congress this month. The handset will be made official at a separate press event later on. Exactly when the new HTC flagship smartphone will be announced is not known as yet. However, given the increasing number of leaks and rumors, it is likely that the official announcement is not too far off.
The HTC U12 is shaping up to be an impressive device with a range of high-end features and potential 5G capabilities. While we will have to wait for the official announcement to get all the details, the leaked images and information suggest that HTC is aiming to make a strong comeback in the competitive smartphone market.
