Honeywell the well-established manufacturer that has been creating thermostats for a number of years has this week unveiled their latest smart thermostat called the Honeywell Lyric to compete with the likes of Google’s Nest.
The new Honeywell Lyric smart thermostat is similar in design to that of the Google Nest and features a circular design as well as being developed to easily be installed and replace a conventional thermostat.
The Honeywell Lyric smart thermostat is priced at $279 and requires no additional wiring and even has a companion application that is supported on both iOS and Android devices allowing users to control the temperature and read data from the smart thermostat remotely.
The Honeywell smart thermostat companion application allows users to set geo-fencing rules with the ability to set specific functions that trigger between distances of 500 feet or 7 miles away from your home. Allowing you to make sure that your heating is either turned up while you were away from home or turned on before you return.
The smart thermostat also allows families to pair more than one smartphone device to the thermostat and allows you to install multiple thermostats throughout your house to control different zones, all combined with a single smartphone application.
