British Gas has rolled out a new update to its Hive Thermostat app for users to enjoy today that adds geolocation to provide extra features and management of your home heating and hot water supply.
The recently launched Hive thermostat is now in an estimated 75,000 UK homes and is in direct competition with Google’s recently acquired Nest thermostat which also recently was made available in the UK and can now be purchased directly from the Google Android Play Store.
The Hive thermostat can be linked to your iOS device and allows you to control your central heating and water remotely. British Gas explains:
“Hive Active Heating revolutionises the way we control heating and hot water. No more fiddling around with tricky boiler controls in dusty cupboards – now just use your mobile, tablet or laptop to do it all remotely. So wherever you are – at work, the pub or even sitting on the sofa, Hive makes heating control easy.”
For more information on the new Hive thermostat and its new geolocation features that allow users to receive notifications if the heating is left on when they leave and also provides the ability to switch on the heating through the Hive smartphone app when they are on the way home, jump over to the Apple iTunes App Store website.
