Samsung has a number of new devices coming next year, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and others like the Samsung Galaxy A8s.
Now we have some specifications on the new Samsung Galaxy A8s, the handset will apparently be launching in January of 2019.
Display and Design
The Galaxy A8s will apparently feature a 6.39 inch Infinity O display with a FHD+ resolution. This innovative display design is expected to offer an immersive viewing experience, thanks to its minimal bezels and the unique hole-punch cutout for the front camera. The Infinity O display is a significant step forward in Samsung’s design language, aiming to maximize screen real estate while maintaining a sleek and modern look.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the handset will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. This chipset is known for its efficient performance and is designed to handle a variety of tasks with ease, from gaming to multitasking. The Snapdragon 710 is built on a 10nm process, which ensures better power efficiency and improved performance compared to its predecessors.
Other specifications on the handset will include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of included storage. This combination should provide ample space for apps, photos, and other media, as well as smooth performance for everyday tasks. Additionally, the device is expected to support expandable storage via a microSD card, allowing users to further increase their storage capacity if needed.
Camera Capabilities
The device will also come with a 24 megapixel front facing camera for selfies. This high-resolution sensor is expected to deliver sharp and detailed self-portraits, making it an excellent choice for selfie enthusiasts. The front camera will likely be enhanced with various software features such as AI-based scene recognition and beauty modes to further improve the quality of selfies.
There are no details as yet on the exact rear camera setup, although it may possibly come with three rear cameras. If this is the case, the triple camera system could include a combination of wide-angle, telephoto, and depth sensors, providing users with versatile photography options. This setup would allow for features such as optical zoom, portrait mode, and wide-angle shots, catering to a wide range of photography needs.
Software and Battery
The handset will also come with Android 9.0 Pie, the latest version of Google’s operating system at the time of its release. Android 9.0 Pie brings a host of new features and improvements, including a revamped user interface, enhanced notifications, and improved battery management. Users can also expect Samsung’s custom skin, likely One UI, which offers additional features and customization options.
In terms of battery life, the Galaxy A8s will feature a 3400 mAh battery. This capacity should provide a full day of usage on a single charge, depending on the user’s habits. The device is also expected to support fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge their phone and get back to using it without long wait times.
Additional Features
While the core specifications of the Galaxy A8s are impressive, there are likely to be additional features that enhance the overall user experience. These could include advanced security options such as a fingerprint sensor or facial recognition, as well as connectivity features like NFC for mobile payments and Bluetooth 5.0 for improved wireless connections.
We will have more information on the handset, including some photos when it launches early next year. The Galaxy A8s is shaping up to be an exciting addition to Samsung’s lineup, offering a blend of innovative design, powerful performance, and versatile camera capabilities.
