If you have been considering purchasing a pair of Google Glass eyewear when they become available and will need to add your own prescription lenses to the device. You might be interested in the prices which have been quietly released by Rochester Optical who will be providing custom lenses for the Google Glass device.
Prices for Google Glass prescription lenses starts at $99 and preorders will start shortly after this years CES 2014 event which starts next week and finishes on January 10th.
Last week Rochester Optical sent out a questionnaire to ask users what they would require custom prescription lenses for Google Glass, asking what their preferred lens material would be together with a range of options that you would normally be asked by and optometrist.
Rochester Optical also asked the existing Google Glass Explorer users the shape of the lenses they would like to see incorporated into the Google Class device to allow users to replace their existing glasses with the new Google Glass eyewear.
Rochester Optical has yet to explain exactly how their new prescription Google Glass lenses will be fitted to the device but a representative explained that a lens carrier/frames assembly would be on offer and no dismantling of Glass would be required, just your prescription would need to be forwarded to Rochester Optical.
Exact details of the Google Glass prescription lenses have yet to be released by Rochester Optical, but as soon as more details are made available from their recent questionnaire we will keep you updated as always.
