Equipped with a unique expanding pleated design the aptly named Pleatpack automatically expands to fit larger objects and will retract to a smaller size when they are removed. The everyday backpack has this week launched by Kickstarter and already raised its required pledge goal thanks to nearly 200 backers with still 41 days remaining on its campaign. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the Pleatpack rucksack created by a team of developers based in Kiev in Ukraine.
Pleatpack is now available to back with early bird pledges starting from just $99 or £73. If manufacturing goes well worldwide shipping is expected to take place during November 2018. Designs explain a little more about the inspiration behind the unique everyday backpack “A modern person needs just a laptop bag to go to work or for a walk. But what if you need to carry much more things? That’s when modular backpacks come in handy. But wait. Think for a second. What if you left additional modules at home? How will you be able to increase the carrying capacity of your backpack if you needed unexpectedly during the day? Pleatpack is сreated to solve this problem.”
