Skateboard design and manufacturing company Evolve has created new electric skateboards equipped with flexible batteries for tighter turning. The newly unveiled GTR Series of electric skateboards build on the company’s previous GT Series designs, sporting the old-school longboard design with an exposed timber finish and three-ply bamboo and two-ply fiberglass sandwiched in between. Watch the video below to learn more about the company’s latest electric skateboard range and their features.
The latest GTR electric skateboard is also available in carbon fiber with a black matte finish. “At Evolve Skateboards we are passionate about creating insanely awesome carving machines that incorporate the best longboarding concepts with latest technology. After 5 years of meticulous design we’ve developed a range of boards that are built for ultimate performance given any situation, from commuting over a variety of urban terrain to riding the ultimate concrete wave.”
The Evolve Bamboo GTR electric skateboard is priced at AU$1,899 or $1,320 and the Carbon GTR for AU$1,999 or $1,390 US. Preorders are now available and shipping is expected to take place during the first week of June 2019.
“The 97-mm (3.8-in) urethane street wheels will allow both the Carbon and Bamboo GTR boards to cover 50 km (31 mi) on each charge, while the 178-mm (7-in) pneumatic tires built for rougher terrain will allow for 30 km (18 mi) of travel. Top speed, meanwhile, is listed as 42 km/h (26 mph) for the street setup and 36 km/h (22 mph) for the all-terrain setup.”
