Ahead of next year’s CES 2019 event, hardware manufacturer ECS has unveiled a new addition to their growing range of mini PC systems with the unveiling of the ECS LIVA Z2L mini PC. Measuring just 132 mm x 118 mm x 56.4 mm in size, the mini PC is equipped with VESA mounts and powered by an Intel Pentium or Celeron “Gemini Lake” SoCs depending on your budget and requirements.
Advanced Cooling and Connectivity
Using a fanless cooling system, the mini PC is expected to run silently, making it an ideal choice for environments where noise levels need to be kept to a minimum, such as offices, libraries, or home media centers. The ECS LIVA Z2L offers extensive connectivity options, including 4 x USB 3.0 ports, one of which is a type-C, and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. For display outputs, it includes both D-Sub and HDMI options, allowing users to connect to a variety of monitors and projectors.
Wireless connectivity is provided by support for 802.11ac WLAN, ensuring fast and reliable internet access. Additionally, ECS has included a Gigabit Ethernet connection for those who prefer a wired network setup. This combination of connectivity options makes the ECS LIVA Z2L a versatile choice for a wide range of applications, from basic computing tasks to more demanding multimedia uses.
Potential Applications and Future Updates
The compact size and robust feature set of the ECS LIVA Z2L mini PC make it suitable for a variety of applications. For instance, it can serve as a home theater PC (HTPC), providing a seamless streaming experience for movies and TV shows. Its silent operation ensures that there are no distracting noises during playback. Additionally, the mini PC can be used in educational settings, where its small footprint and quiet operation are beneficial in classrooms and computer labs.
Businesses can also take advantage of the ECS LIVA Z2L for digital signage, kiosks, and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Its VESA mount compatibility allows it to be easily attached to the back of monitors or other surfaces, keeping workspaces tidy and organized.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by ECS, but as soon as information comes to light, we will keep you updated as always. Expect more news to be leaked, released, or publicized ahead of next year’s CES 2019 Technology event taking place in Las Vegas in January 2019.
