A new Android media centre designed to transform your HDTV smart TV or Android PC has been introduced by Diamond Multimedia, and is now available for $120. A limited time $20 discount offer if also currently available via their Facebook page.
The Diamond Multimedia AMP1000 Android Media Centre is equipped with a 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor supported by 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage. However 3.5GB of that storage is unusable due to operating system requirements.
The AMP1000 Android Media Centre will currently ship with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread installed, but Diamond Multimedia have plans to soon roll out an upgrade to Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system very shortly, via a download.
The AMP1000 Android Media Centre can connect to your home network via either wireless or cable connection, and an option is available for $10 that will add Bluetooth support to your system. Even with Gingerbread installed the media centre can access Google Play and support Adobe Flash Player.
