After being showcase last month at SXSW Dell has now made their new Dell XPS 18 all-in-one desktop/tablet Windows 8 device available to pre-order.
The Dell XPS 18 is powered by a choice of Intel’s Core i3, i5, and i7 processors and a base unit will be available with a Pentium 2117U processor, supported by up to 8GB or RAM.
The Dell XPS 18 is fitted with a 18.4″ Full HD (1080p) 1920 x 1080 resolution touch screen and integrated kickstand to easily transform the larger than life tablet into a desktop system, running Microsoft’s latest Windows 8 operating system.
The new Dell XPS 18 tablet/desktop weighs in at 4.8lb, and has been designed to provide up to 5 hours of usage on a single battery charge, with storage available as either HDD or solid state disk (SSD), and prices now start from $899 for the base Dell XPS 18 system.
“The Dell XPS 18 is designed to move. Unplug it and take it with you to create your own setup anywhere. Stream your favorite tunes, review reports at your office or connect with friends on the couch. Carry it easily from room to room or enjoy it as a tablet comfortably in your lap because it’s the world’s thinnest and lightest portable all-in-one.”
