Some of our readers might remember the Controllino PLC Arduino open source Internet of Things controller we featured here on Geeky Gadgets back in March of this year.
Unfortunately back then their Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign failed to raise the hundred thousand dollars is required to make the jump into manufacture. However not deterred they have relaunched a new campaign looking to raise $50,000 and are already nearly halfway there with 15 days remaining.
The Controllino PLC has been designed to provide the first software open source PLC that is an Arduino compatible and both CE and UL certified and ready to control your Internet of Things.
Controllino is fitted with an AT mega 328 microcontroller with a clock speed of 16 MHz together with 8x Analog/Digital Inputs and 8x Digital Outputs – 2A @12V or 24V. Check out the video below to learn more about this useful device.
“When I was at electronic school … I would have loved ARDUINO … but back then microcontroller programming wasn’t that easy. When I became aware of ARDUINO I thought … what a great idea for young people and those who are not hardcore microcontroller programmers.
The only problem with ARDUINO is … when you don’t really know so much about electronic hardware … driving more than a LED can become difficult. And using an ARDUINO Board in a professional project or even a product that you want to sell is quasi impossible if you want to get certification.
CONTROLLINO is a Software Open-Source PLC in 3 different sizes. Perfect for your next Industrial Application, Home Automation, Educational – Project to control your Internet of Things.
A solid hardware build around Atmel’s ATmega328 and the ATmega2560 microcontrollers, ready to run with your products and projects.”
So if you think Controllino is something your projects or business could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website via the link below now to make a pledge and help Controllino become a reality.
