If you are in the market for a little extra storage and looking for fast transfer speeds but can’t afford the hefty prices of solid state disk (SSD) external storage devices. The new Buffalo DriveStation DDR external storage devices might be worth a little more investigation.
The Buffalo DriveStation DDR is equipped with a USB 3.0 connection and includes 1GB of DDR3 RAM, which has been added to help provide quicker transfer speeds, that Buffalo report are 408 MB/s, 2.3 x faster than a typical USB 3.0 hard drive says Buffalo.
“Buffalo’s DriveStation DDR is a high performance USB 3.0 desktop hard drive that offers ultra fast transfer speeds, comparable to SSD. Combining the high capacity of an HDD with the performance of DDR3 RAM, DriveStation DDR utilizes 1 GB of DRAM cache for blazing fast transfers, up to 408 MB/s.”
The new Buffalo DriveStation DDR is formatted in NTFS by default and available in 2TB or 3TB storage capacities for $139.99 and $179.99 respectively.
