Audi has been making luxury and sports cars for a long time now and is famous for its Quattro all-wheel drive system for its vehicles. Audi has announced that it has teamed up with a bicycle marker called Renovo Hardwood Bicycles. The result is a trio of Audi inspired bicycles that combine luxury and performance dubbed duo.
The bikes uses a monocoque frame made from hardwood. The wood promises the smoothest ride of any bike frame material thanks to its ability to absorb shock and vibration. The duo offerings are also lighter than bikes that use aluminum thanks the wood used.
Despite being lighter, the bike is still stronger than a comparable aluminum frame. The duo line will use a belt drive, aluminum, and carbon fiber in its design. They will sport disc brakes and LED lighting as well and the wood will match that used in some Audi car interiors. The duo City is an all weather commuter bike that will sell for $6,530. The duo Sport is a fitness and long distance bike selling for $7,350 and the duo Road is a performance road bike for club riders that sells for $7,460. The prices include shipping and handling.
