Rodsum Wireless based in Hong Kong have created a new wireless locator system designed specifically for seniors to enable their friends and family to monitor their location and receive alerts when a fall or abnormal routine behaviour is detected. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the smartphone connected AROCO Locator, which has this week launched by Kickstarter to raise the required funds it needs to go into production.
The AROCO Locator AL312 consists of a wearable mobile device That is paired with a smartphone companion application supported by both iOS and Android devices. During a 24-hour period, the device quietly collects location data and updates the caregiver’s application. If something untoward is detected, then an alert message is sent directly to the mobile device allowing the caregiver to take action. “An active lifestyle is healthy and enjoyable for our seniors. As we encourage them to get out to the community, we are also obliged to be there for them should the seniors need our help in unexpected situations. It is a huge responsibility for those who take up this caregiving role, especially when we are busy at work or have our own children to take care of. “
