Well this is a surprise, last week the fifth beta of iOS 11.2.5 was released, we thought this was the last beta and now Apple has released iOS 11.2.5 beta 6.
We were expecting Apple to release the final iOS 11.2.5 software update this week, it looks like this will now happen next week.
The iOS 11.2.5 beta 6 apparently fixes a recently discovered bug in iOS which would freeze the messages application on your iPhone and iPad when you were sent a specific link. Information about this bug was released earlier this week, so that would explain why Apple has included it in the lastes beta.
The new iOS 11.2.5 software brings a range of new features to Apple’s iPhone and iPad, one of those is the new Siri News feature that will play a news podcast when you ask Siri about the latest news. This plays news from the Washington Post as default in the US, you can also choose between CNN, NPR and Fox News.
As yet there are no details on exactly when the iOS 11.2.5 software update will be released. It could be some time next week unless Apple decides to released another beta of the software. Normally with iOS Apple will release five betas and then the final version of the software.
