Apple started taking pre-orders of the iPhone 6 from September 12th, including te Apple store, as well as all the major carriers in the US.
It seems the customers who were one of the first ones to order are being shipped. Verizon has started sending customers with tracking numbers for their orders.
It’s worth mentioning that despite the early shipping, FedEx will hold the shipments until the official availability date, which is, September 19th. Customers will also get the ability to pick up the iPhone 6 from Apple retail locations as well, but that might be a little difficult as people have already started lining up outside flagship stores.
As far as the online pre-orders are concerned, most models now shows a shipment date of seven to ten days, while the iPhone 6 Plus is delayed to three to four weeks, hinting at the limited quantities as rumored several times in the past.
Just like last year, Apple released two new models dubbed as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display while the Plus model comes with a bigger 5.5-inch screen. Most of the specifications of both devices are the same, there’s an A8 processor with a motion co-processor, 8MP iSight camera, Touch ID, and runs iOS 8 as its operating system out of the box.
