China Mobile started taking pre-orders 0n the iPhone last month, and now Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook has spoken about the deal between Apple and China Mobile.
The Apple CEO spoke to The Wall Street Journal, and said he is ‘incredibly optimistic’ about the deal between Apple and China Mobile, and China Mobile’s Chairman, Xi Guohua has said that ‘multi millions’ of iPhones have already been solfd by the carrier.
China Mobile is the largest mobile carrier in China, and it could bring a significant boost to sales of Apple’s iPhone, and is expected to add between 10 and 30 million additional iPhone sales per year.
“Today is a beginning,” says Cook, “and I think there are lots more things our companies can do together in the future … China Mobile already has a reach to many cities that Apple does not have a reach to.”
Apple will be announcing their latest earnings report at the end of the month, and we can expect to hear some more details about how well Apple’s iPhones are selling on China mobile.
