The Tech Advisor website has announced that Amazon has confirmed that it is currently finalising a new Amazon Prime Instant Video Android application that will be launching very soon. To offer Android users access to Amazon’s streaming movie and TV series service and original content being created by the new Amazon Studio.
Android users of the Amazon Prime Instant Video service have been re-requesting an Android application from Amazon for quite some time and there are already Amazon Instant Prime apps available on iOS and Kindles as well as smart TVs.
Launching a new Android application would help the Amazon Prime Instant Video service reach a huge market, one which Google announced at this year’s I/O developer conference has now reached 1 billion active users.
As well as imminently launching a new Android application, Amazon is also preparing to launch its new 4K Ultra HD quality content to its users. Amazon then hopes to release all its original Amazon Studios series in Ultra HD 4K resolutions in the near future. The latest original content to be released by Amazon Studio is Extant starting Halle Berry But unfortunately this isn’t available in 4K Ultra HD.
When Amazon does officially announce the launch of a dedicated Amazon Prime Instant Video Android app we will let you know as soon as it happens
