Amazon has announced today they they have sealed a deal for a multi-year licensing agreement in the U.S with EPIX that will bring another 3,000 more movie titles to Amazon’s Prime Instant Video users.
The 3,000 movies include titles such as The Avengers, Iron Man 2, The Hunger Games, Super 8, Thor and more, from Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, and Lionsgate
Amazon Prime Instant Video now includes over 25,000 movies TV programmes with instant watch support and unlimited streaming at no additional for Amazon Prime members. Bill Carr, Vice President of Video and Music at Amazon explained in the press release:
“We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars to expand the Prime Instant Video library for our customers. We have now more than doubled this selection of movies and TV episodes to over 25,000 titles in just under a year,”-“We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers such popular EPIX titles, many of which were just recently in theaters. We can tell from the data that our customers love watching movies on Prime Instant Video. We think customers will really enjoy watching new titles like The Avengers, Iron Man 2 and The Hunger Games on their Kindle Fire, PlayStation 3, Xbox, iPad or any of the other of the Amazon Instant Video compatible devices.”
