Motorola is rumored to be working on a bunch of new devices, high-end as well as a few budget devices. We’ve heard rumors that the successor to the popular Moto G is also on its way, as well as a flagship Moto X2 or X+1 — call it whatever you like.
Recently, a mysterious box has popped up online, apparently landed at Verizon for testing. The box mentions the Motorola Mobility XT1096 on it, with a note that it’s highly confidential, and cannot be activated on any consumer or employee account.
It’s surprising to see this model number, since we have yet to come across any leak or rumor that mentions this model. Even the current Motorola devices doesn’t have a similar model number. Moto X for Verizon has a XT1060 model number, while the Moto G has XT1032.
Apart from the box, there are no details available about the alleged device, it could be smartphone, a tablet, we have no idea at the moment. The device could be the upcoming Moto Maxx or the Moto X+1, but it’s not confirmed.
Let’s just wait for sometime as we may see some more information about the handset, thanks to the rumor mill. Until then, speculate as you may.
