Nintendo has this week announced the launch of three new 3DS XL bundles that will be launching in Japan, which includes two special edition case designs.
The two limited edition case designs feature New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Animal Crossing 3DS, and Nintendo has also announced that eight previously released 3DS games will be arriving on the Japanese eShop.
Special Edition Case Designs
The Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate bundle comes with an all-black 3DS XL, and launches in Japan on November 1. The NSMB 2 bundle is finished with a very flash red design, dotted with light red images from the Mario universe. This design is particularly appealing to fans of the Mario series, as it incorporates iconic elements such as mushrooms, stars, and coins, making it a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts.
While the Animal Crossing 3DS is finished with polka dot images against a white background, and arrives in Japan on November 8th, with the NSMB 2 arriving one a week after, and all three bundles come with digital copies of the game. The Animal Crossing design is charming and whimsical, reflecting the playful and community-focused nature of the game. It features various symbols from the game, such as leaves, houses, and characters, which add a touch of personalization and nostalgia for long-time fans.
Additional 3DS Games on eShop
In addition to the new bundles, Nintendo has also announced that eight previously released 3DS games will be arriving on the Japanese eShop. This move is part of Nintendo’s ongoing effort to make classic and popular titles more accessible to players. Some of the games expected to be re-released include fan favorites like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 7, and Super Mario 3D Land. These titles have been critically acclaimed and have a strong following, making their digital re-release a significant event for the gaming community.
The re-release of these games on the eShop not only provides an opportunity for new players to experience these classics but also allows long-time fans to revisit their favorite games with the convenience of digital access. This initiative is likely to boost the popularity of the 3DS platform and attract a wider audience.
Moreover, the digital re-release aligns with the growing trend of digital gaming, where players prefer the convenience of downloading games directly to their devices rather than purchasing physical copies. This trend has been driven by the increasing availability of high-speed internet and the growing storage capacity of gaming devices.
Nintendo’s strategy to offer both new bundles and digital re-releases demonstrates their commitment to catering to diverse player preferences. Whether players are looking for the latest special edition consoles or seeking to relive classic gaming experiences, Nintendo’s latest offerings provide something for everyone.
