Honda has unveiled the latest version of one of its most popular cars at the North American International Auto Show. The car is the 2015 Honda Fit and it is all new. The car promises more power, space, and fuel efficiency than the previous model offered. The car will go on sale this spring with pricing announced closer to launch. Honda redesigned the 2015 Fit from the ground up.
The 2015 Fit is 1.6-inches shorter than the outgoing model, it is 0.3-inch wider and 1.2-inches longer wheelbase. That doesn’t sound like a lot of difference, but it gives the car 4.8-inches more rear legroom and 4.9 more cubic feet inside. All 2015 Fit models will get Bluetooth connectivity, a multi-angle rear view camera, and an expanded view driver’s mirror.
The new car also gets an all-new engine displacing 1.5L and generating 128hp with 114 lb-ft of torque. That is a gain of 11 hp and 8 lb-ft of torque compared to the old model. The 2015 Fit can be ordered with a CVT transmission or a 6-speed manual. Despite having more space and a wider body, the 2015 Fit is 57 pounds lighter than the old version. The car is estimated to get 33mpg in the city, 41mpg on the highway, and 36mpg combined.
