You might be familiar with the company called Looxie that makes the point of view video cameras. Looxie has teamed up with Taser, the people who make the non-lethal weapons for police officers and self-defense. The resulting product is called the Axon Flex and it is a small camera designed for police officers to wear.
The camera mounts to the side of a pair of Oakley sunglasses and has several other mounting options. The camera starts at about $700 per unit and has a buffer that can record 30 seconds of video before the camera is activated so an entire altercation can be recorded.
The camera and associated recording device are weatherproof and officers can use apps for iOS or Android devices to view live streaming video from the camera. The camera supports high-quality, low light video and has a 12 hour battery life. The little camera measures 3.2 inches long and associated recorders 4.5 inches tall.Filed Under: Camera News
