We recently heard that LG were getting ready to launch their new Google TV powered TVs in the US, and now LG has confirmed that the first of their new Google TV devices will land in the US near the end of May.
The first of these new Google TVs from LG will be available in store by the week of the 21st of May, and we saw some of these new devices back in January at CES.

These new LG Google TVs also come with ARM processors, and whilst we don’t have any official pricing, we had heard previously that they were expected to retail from around $1600 for a 47 inch model and $2,100 for a 55 inch model.
Features and Specifications
The LG Google TVs are designed to offer a seamless integration of traditional television with the power of the internet. These TVs come equipped with the Google TV platform, which allows users to access a wide range of apps, streaming services, and web browsing capabilities directly from their TV. The inclusion of ARM processors ensures that these TVs can handle multitasking and high-definition content smoothly.
One of the standout features of the LG Google TV is its voice search functionality. Users can simply speak into the remote control to search for content, making it easier to find movies, TV shows, and online videos. Additionally, the TVs come with a user-friendly interface that organizes content in a way that is easy to navigate.
Market Competition and Consumer Expectations
The launch of LG’s Google TV comes at a time when the market for smart TVs is becoming increasingly competitive. Companies like Samsung, Sony, and Vizio are also offering smart TVs with similar features. However, LG aims to differentiate itself with the integration of Google TV, which provides a more robust and versatile platform compared to some of its competitors.
Consumers have high expectations for these new LG Google TVs, especially given the price points. The 47-inch model, expected to retail around $1600, and the 55-inch model, around $2100, are positioned as premium products. Therefore, buyers will be looking for exceptional picture quality, fast performance, and a wide range of features that justify the investment.
In addition to the hardware and software features, LG is also focusing on the design of these TVs. The new models are expected to have sleek, modern designs that will fit well in any living room. The thin bezels and high-quality materials used in the construction of these TVs are likely to appeal to consumers who are looking for both functionality and aesthetics.
Another aspect that could influence consumer decisions is the availability of content. With Google TV, users have access to a vast library of apps and streaming services, including popular ones like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. This extensive content library is a significant advantage for LG, as it ensures that users will have plenty of options for entertainment.
