Yahoo has rolled out a new release for their iOS social TV application IntoNow, adding a number of new features together with improved social networking. One of the new features added by Yahoo in IntoNow 3.0 is Music Sync, which is able to identify music within TV shows.
Enabling you to check background music, jingles or even live music which is then provides a link to directly download the track from iTunes or listen to it via YouTube. Adam Cahan, founder of IntoNow and VP of Product at Yahoo explains:
“iOS devices are pervasive in our living rooms, and second screen behavior is now commonplace. IntoNow wanted to up the ante and give people a whole new experience. We’re the first to offer some major technological innovations – like the ability to capture and share moments that happened seconds ago on TV or automatically identify songs playing in the background – all of which gives people watching TV with IntoNow 3.0 a unique, interactive experience.”
Enhanced Social Networking Features
In addition to Music Sync, IntoNow 3.0 has introduced several enhanced social networking features. Users can now engage in group chats while watching their favorite TV shows, making it easier to share thoughts and reactions in real-time. This feature is particularly useful for live events such as sports games, award shows, and season finales, where real-time interaction can significantly enhance the viewing experience. The app also allows users to capture and share screenshots of memorable TV moments, adding a visual element to their social interactions.
Improved User Interface and Experience
The user interface of IntoNow 3.0 has been revamped to be more intuitive and user-friendly. The new design ensures that users can easily navigate through the app and access its various features without any hassle. The app’s performance has also been optimized to provide a smoother and more responsive experience. This is particularly important for features like Music Sync and group chats, which require real-time processing and interaction.
The latest Yahoo IntoNow 3.0 application is now available to download from the iTunes App Store for free and is supported on Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. Unfortunately, Android users will have to wait a little longer for the new features to filter through to their application. However, Yahoo has assured that they are working on bringing these exciting new features to the Android platform as soon as possible.
The introduction of these new features in IntoNow 3.0 marks a significant step forward in the evolution of social TV applications. By integrating music identification, real-time social interactions, and an improved user interface, Yahoo is setting a new standard for what users can expect from their second screen experiences. This not only enhances the way people watch TV but also how they interact with content and with each other.
