During a Reddit ‘Ask me anything’ session with a person claiming to be an App developer working on the Xbox One has revealed some interesting details about the new next generation Xbox One console, although at the present time they have not been officially confirmed by Microsoft.
During the ‘Ask me anything’ session on Reddit the source explained that the Microsoft Xbox One Kinect device cost almost as much as the Xbox One console to build and that the success of the Kinect carries much more weight to Microsoft than that of the console.
The source continued by explaining : “The goal with having a Kinect ship with every Xbox is to guarantee to game developers if they implement Kinect features into their games, everyone who has an Xbox will be able to experience it. I often see people dismiss the Kinect instantly because they haven’t seen it work like I have. It is an integral part of the Xbox One experience.”
The Microsoft Xbox One is powered by a customised AMD Jaguar 8 core processor and will also feature a graphics processor that is tailored for Direct X 11. graphics and comes with 32MB of high bandwidth embedded ESRAM.
The 8GB of RAM on the Xbox one is DDR3, and will be capable of supporting full HD video in 1080p and the new 4k video, it will also offer full 7.1 surround sound support.
