If you are the owner of a Windows Phone 7 mobile phone and you haven’t enabled the Windows Phone 7 transparent lock screen your really missing out a fantastic time saver. The creation of a transparent lock screen was first discovered by WP7 developer Keyboardp.
Once enabled the Windows Phone 7 transparent lock screen allows you to view your live tiles without the need to unlock the phone.
Its very simply to create your very own transparent lock screen. All you need to do is create an image in Photoshop or a similar application at the recommended size of 480 x 800 then save the image as a PNG. Email the image to your phone and then view attachment, touch the ellipses (…) on the bottom right and touch “use as wallpaper” and that’s it. Have fun.
If you fancy creating more fancy lock screens jump over to Keyboardp blog for a few tips and tricks.
Unfortunately the tweak doesn’t work on password protected screens and remember any transparencies in the image will become black until the touch screen is activated and moved.
