The new White Slim PS3 is the first combination of a white and 320GB PS3 combined in a console that has become available from Sony.
The new 320GB White PS3 is now advertised on Sony Japan’s official website and the “classic white” 320GB HDD model will sell for ¥34,980, around $410, and comes with a single, matching DualShock 3 controller.

The new white PS3 will not be shipping with either game and the white PS3 Slim unfortunately will not be available in North America.
Sony is also launching a white/blue style alternating colour PSP and will go on sale November 18th for around ¥17,800 or $208.
Features and Specifications
The White Slim PS3 is not just about aesthetics; it also packs a punch with its impressive 320GB hard drive. This ample storage space allows gamers to store a vast library of games, movies, music, and other digital content. The console supports Blu-ray discs, ensuring high-definition gaming and movie experiences. Additionally, it includes built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and multiple USB ports for added convenience.
The DualShock 3 controller that comes with the console is also in a matching white color, providing a cohesive and stylish look. The controller features Sixaxis motion sensing technology, which enhances gameplay by allowing players to interact with games in a more intuitive way.
Market Availability and Reception
While the White Slim PS3 is an exciting addition to Sony’s lineup, it is important to note that it will not be available in North America. This decision has left many fans in the region disappointed, as the sleek design and enhanced storage capacity make it a desirable option for gamers. However, the console will be available in Japan starting October 21st, and it is expected to be well-received in the market.
Sony’s decision to release a white version of the PS3 aligns with their strategy to offer more variety and cater to different consumer preferences. The classic black PS3 has been a staple in many households, but the white version provides a fresh and modern alternative. This move is similar to the release of the white/blue alternating color PSP, which will also be available in Japan starting November 18th for around ¥17,800 or $208.
The introduction of these new color options demonstrates Sony’s commitment to innovation and their understanding of the importance of aesthetics in consumer electronics. By offering different color choices, Sony is able to appeal to a broader audience and provide options that suit various tastes and styles.
