Apple’s latest version of their iOS 4 (iPhone OS) will be available to download later today, there are lots of new features in iOS 4 which make it a major upgrade over the iPhone OS 3.
First up is ‘Multitasking’, now you will be able to run and switch between third party applications without having to close them down, which should make things a lot easier on the iPhone as this is one of the features many users have wanted to see for quite some time.
Another new feature is called ‘Folders’ you will now be able to organize all your favourite applications in separate folders, and you can also install a lot more applications on your iPhone, a total of 2160 apps.
Email has had a bit of an upgrade in iOS 4, there is now a new unified inbox that lets you see messages from all your accounts in one inbox and you can also manage emails by threads and open attachments in third party applications.
iBooks will be available in iOS 4, the iBooks application for the iPhone works just like the version on the iPad, you can browse the iBooks store and purchase books to read on your iPhone.
The iPod feature in iOS 4 now lets you create your own custom play lists from the music stored on your iPhone, without having to hook your iPhone up to itunes.
There are also a range of other new features in iOS 4 which include, faces and places, spell checking, gift apps, and support for a wireless keyboard via Bluetooth.
Apple has also added the ability to change your Home screen wallpaper, which is a feature that will we welcomed by many iPhone users.
