Ford has announced that it has donated the very first production 2019 Mustang Bullitt car to charity. The car will be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson automotive auction today at 7:30PM MST. The auction will happen in Scottsdale, Arizona.
When the gavel falls, all the proceeds from the auction will be given to a charity called Boys Republic. That particular charity would be important to Steve McQueen, it’s a school and treatment community for at risk youth.
McQueen graduated from the school in 1946. The Bullitt Mustang auctioned off will be VIN 001. It’s not clear if the car will be on hand at the auction or if the winner gets the rights to the car when production starts.
