What was found inside was that the Verizon iPhone 4 features a different antenna design than the original iPhone 4, something we already knew, and the Verizon iPhone 4 is only compatible with CDMA networks.
The guys at iFixit found something quite interesting inside the Verizon iPhone 4, it features Qualcomm “Gobi” MDM6600 baseband chip, which is capable of supporting both CDMA and GSM networks.
