UK retailer Clove has just put the unlocked version of the new Nokia Lumia 1020 up for pre-order, although they have yet to confirm exactly how much the device will retail for.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 features a 4.5 inch WXGA AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, there is also a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor, there is also 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built in storage.
Exceptional Camera Capabilities
The standout feature of the Nokia Lumia 1020 is undoubtedly its 41 megapixel PureView camera. This camera is equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to ensure that your photos and videos are sharp and clear, even in low light conditions. The Nokia Pro Camera app provides advanced settings for photography enthusiasts, allowing for manual adjustments of shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and focus. This makes the Lumia 1020 not just a smartphone, but a powerful tool for photographers.
The device also includes a Xenon flash for still photos and an LED flash for video recording, ensuring that you can capture high-quality images and videos in any lighting condition. The camera’s high resolution allows for significant zooming without losing detail, making it ideal for capturing distant subjects or cropping images while maintaining clarity.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor. While dual-core processors are not the latest technology, the Snapdragon 1.5GHz ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks and moderate multitasking. The 2GB of RAM further supports the device’s ability to handle multiple applications simultaneously without significant lag.
The Lumia 1020 comes with 32GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, videos, and other media. However, it is worth noting that the device does not support expandable storage via microSD cards, so users will need to manage their storage accordingly. For those who require additional space, cloud storage solutions such as Microsoft OneDrive can be utilized to store and back up important files.
The device runs on Windows Phone 8, which offers a unique user experience compared to other operating systems like Android and iOS. Windows Phone 8 features a tile-based interface that is both intuitive and customizable, allowing users to pin their favorite apps and contacts to the home screen for easy access.
