It looks like Twitter has decided to buy another Twitter client, this time its TweetDeck, and according to a report by TechCrunch, the deal is reported to be worth between $40 to $50 million.
According to the report the deal will be officially announced within a couple of days, and the $40 to $50 million price tag includes a combination of cash and Twitter stock.
Twitter have reportedly purchased Tweet Deck as a defensive move, as Uber Media, who a rumored to be working on a competitor to Twitter had recently attempted to buy TweetDeck.
TweetDeck is one of the more popular Twitter clients out there, and it is available for a number of devices, which include the PC and Mac, the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices as well as certain web browsers.
It isn’t clear as yet what exactly Twitter plans to do with TweetDeck, as they company already has their own official app for mobile devices, which is another Twitter client they purchased, re-branded and redesigned as their own.
