Last year the majority of Apple’s A8 processors we built by TSMC for Apple, we recently heard that Samsung would be producing the new Apple A9 chip this year.
Now according to a recent report, TSMC will produce around 50 percent of Apple’s processors for the iPhone and iPad in 2015.
This will include the new Apple A9 processor and the new Apple A9X processor, the other 50 percent of these chips will be produced by Samsung.
Whilst TSMC is not being replaced by Samsung, they will produce a lower percentage of Apple processors than they did in 2014.
Apple are expected to launch their new Apple A9 processor later in the year with the launch of their next generation iPhone, the iPhone 6S.
