I mentioned a little while ago the Toshiba had announced a new mobile workstation called the Tecra W50. Along with the announcement of the new mobile workstation, Toshiba also announced an updated Portege R30 ultraportable laptop. The newly updated R30 now features full voltage fourth-generation Intel Core M processors. Those full voltage processors promise to not impact battery life for the ultraportable notebook.
The R30 laptop has an integrated DVD drive and is only 1-inch thick and starts at 3.2 pounds. The machine can be fitted with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 750 GB of hard drive storage. Users wanting the machine to be as light and fast as possible can opt or up to 512 GB of SSD storage. The machine is also designed to be secure for mobile workers featuring Intel vPro technology along with Trusted Platform Module and an integrated fingerprint reader.
The machine has a 13-inch screen and features three USB 3.0 ports and a full-sized HDMI output. Toshiba also equips the notebook with a memory card reader and USB 3.0 Sleep & Charge ports. Those ports allow users to plug in smartphones and tablets to charge even when the notebook is turned off. The updated notebook will be available at the end of November at an undisclosed price.
