If you are in the need for a little extra storage or need to upgrade Synology have just unveiled their new DS211 NAS which might be worth a look.
The new Synology DS211+ NAS server has been designed for power users or budget conscious businesses and has two bays capable of taking drives up to 3 GB in capacity in a number of different RAID configurations.
Depending on your RAID configuration the DS211+ is capable of providing 6GB of storage and comes with Synology’s DiskStation Manager software that allows you to automatically back up your data whether it is attached to a PC, Mac or Linux.
The NAS server is also equipped with a built-in SD card reader, which makes it possible to transfer pictures directly into the NAS and using the admin interface you are able to configure backs through Time Machine, audio and video streaming to UPnP devices, and a host of third-party plug-ins, including on-device BitTorrent clients and FTP servers.
The new Synology DS211+ NAS Server will be available shortly for around $400.
