Back in 2013 StumbleUpon acquired the video discovery service 5by for an undisclosed sum that was founded by Greg Isenberg. This week StumbleUpon has announced that it will be closing down the 5by service that was available on both Android and iOS devices as well as providing video discovery services via website.
Towards the end of last week StumbleUpon notified its users via an email but did not explain any reasons behind the move. If you are disappointed that you will no longer be able to view curated videos to suit your mood there are others available.
TNW has put together a list of destinations that provide curated video that will help you recover from the loss of the 5by service that was your go to video service. Isenberg has been asked what he is now focusing on since the closure of 5by via Twitter wary answered by pointing fans to Islands.im although nothing has been revealed about what the site is being developed for.
