In the last year or so developments in the immerse world of virtual reality have take a jump thanks to devices such as the Oculus Rift, Virtuix Omni Gaming Treadmill and others.
Now Sixense is looking to take control in a virtual world one step further and has created the STEM System, a virtual world controller that allows you to immerse yourself even further. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the STEM System project and see it in action.
The new STEM System created by Sixense is a wireless, modular motion tracking platform for video games, and virtual reality. That allows players to interact naturally and intuitively with games by tracking full position and orientation at all times, whether at the desktop or throughout the entire living room.
“This the next big step in Sixense motion tracking technology, which has previously powered the Razer Hydra PC gaming controller, the input device of choice for developers of VR applications. Advancements for the STEM System include longer range, wireless operation, modular form factor, and better tracking performance at all ranges.
The STEM System will support up to five wireless motion tracking modules, or STEMs, for full position and orientation tracking of the head and hands, the entire body, or other configurations. You can also clip or strap a STEM to your body or any device you choose using a STEM Pack. “
The STEM System project is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think STEM System is something you could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help STEM System become a reality.
