Streaming music service Spotify has this week released a new update for its iOS application for Apple smartphones and tablets adding new functionality to the application which follows on from their announced partnership with SongKick last month.
The Songkick website provides provides Spotify with upcoming concerts on artists’ profile pages throughout its desktop app and now that same functionality has been added to the Spotify iOS app.
Enabling iOS users to enjoy a new ‘On Tour’ section within the application that is now listed in the middle of a profile page. The new feature has been designed to launch the Songkick event page within the Spotify iOS application, providing details and links to further information located on the Songkick website.
As well as adding the new Songkick functionality the new updated Spotify iOS application also benefits from the new enhanced deep-dive search feature being gradually rolled out by Spotify. That enables Spotify users to get instant results as well as search playlists and user profiles with their search term.
The latest Spotify iOS application now supports more languages than ever with three being added in this update that include Japanese, Russian and Indonesian and is now available to download from the Apple iTunes App Store for free.
