Sony’s new action camera were first unveiled as prototypes back in June of this year, but now Sony has now launched a pair of production rugged cameras, in the form of the HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 Action Cams.
Sony has designed to duo to provide users with a small and compact rugged camera, to record point-of-view sports video action sports in full 1080p HD, and it includes an interval still recording mode as well for time-lapse photography.
Each Action Cam weighs about three ounces with the battery installed, and accessories include adhesive mounts, and a tough waterproof case that includes a universal tripod connection to make attaching the action cam to mounts a little easier.
Whilst in the protect case the camera can be taken down to 197 feet underwater and is protected from dust, mud, snow, rain, and grime and drops from up to five foot. The Sony HDR-AS15 Action Cam also provides users with the ability to use it on-board Wi-Fi connectivity to instantly share footage with the free Sony PlayMemories Mobile application.
The HDR-AS10 and the HDR-AS15 will be available in September 2012 for about $200 and $270 respectively. For more information jump over to the Photography Blog for the full press release, and details.
