Seagate has this week announced the launch of its new 4TB external hard disk drive, breaking the current capacity ceiling for external storage drives. The new drive is sporting a new look for the GoFlex series of hard drives which Seagate will eventually roll-out across their entire line of GoFlex products .
The new 4TB drive comes complete with USB 3.0 support and is backwardly compatible with USB 2.0 ports, and the Mac version will include a FireWire 800 port.
The drive can also be attached to a home network if required providing additional storage with the GoFlex Home adapter. Bundled and preloaded on the drive is backup software that can be used for automatic, continuous backups complete with encryption for all your files.
The new Seagate 4TB GoFlex Desk drive is now available directly from Seagate for $249.99 and will be arriving in stores within the next month.
